Responsible Meg has always taken care of her bipolar, younger brother Matt. But when she decides to get pregnant and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder, is she taking the idea of “being responsible” too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love.
Good Egg will be directed by Artistic Director, Gavin Hawk, and will star Meg Heimstead and Christopher Jackson.
[Simple Theare has] managed, in three years, to produce several of the area’s most exciting shows. The streak continues with the bristling Good Egg…. Both Heimstead and Jackson have been lauded by local critics, and deservedly so. …Heimstead and Jackson simply dazzle.” – Articulate Creative Pinellas
Well, now stage aficionados need to add one more new venue to their mental maps: the Bininger Theatre at Eckerd College, where Gavin Hawk’s “a simple theatre” is offering a first-rate production of Dorothy Fortenberry’s Good Egg. This literate and intelligent play, about a young woman and her bipolar brother, features stirring acting by Meg Heimstead and Chris Jackson, sharp direction by Hawk, and a strikingly beautiful living room set by Jeff Weber.” - Creative Loafing
